In Line with Ghana’s transition towards adopting the Cylinder Recirculation Model (CRM) to promote LPG as a clean cooking fuel, Newgas is actively establishing multiple LPG cylinder bottling facilities across the country. These facilities will play a crucial role in the efficient distribution and widespread adoption of LPG, helping to replace the traditional use of wood fuels for cooking.

In Line with Ghana’s transition towards adopting the Cylinder Recirculation Model (CRM) to promote LPG as a clean cooking fuel, Newgas is actively establishing multiple LPG cylinder bottling facilities across the country. These facilities will play a crucial role in the efficient distribution and widespread adoption of LPG, helping to replace the traditional use of wood fuels for cooking.
The first bottling plant is located in Tema, marking a significant step forward. Following this, another plant is planned for Kumasi, with four additional satellite plants to be strategically positioned across key regions of Ghana.
These initiatives highlight Newgas’ commitment to fostering a cleaner, more sustainable energy landscape and promoting broader acceptance of LPG as a safer and more eco-friendly cooking alternative.

The Tema Bottling facility is being developed in two phases. The first phase, now completed, has the capacity to fill over 25,000 LPG cylinders per day across its two carousels and two filling stands.
The installed filling capacities per hour are as follows: 1,400 cylinders for 3kg cylinders, 1,800 cylinders for both 6kg and 12kg cylinders, and 20 cylinders for industrial cylinders.
The facility is equipped with an Automated Terminal Management System, palletizer, cylinder maintenance line, cylinder washing machines, control room, and fire fighting system.
In the second phase, two more carousels will be added, increasing the facility’s capacity to fill over 51,000 LPG cylinders per day.
